On 29 January, four members of the Student Voice Committee met with Kingston Council project manager, Tara Watson, to discuss strategies for making Mordialloc’s streets and roads a safer place for students, parents and the wider community. With planning surveys, focus groups and street observations, we hope to improve behaviours around roads and trains and reduce hazards in our local area. Several points of concern have already been identified such as the narrow footpath on the other side of the creek near the rail sidings.
The Student Voice Committee and Kingston Council will continue to work together this year by collecting and analysing data to help create safer roads and transport for the students of Mordialloc College.
