To mark International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia, intersexphobia and Transphobia (IDAHoBIT Day), the Wellbeing Team and students from the Respect group hosted a variety of activities.
The day began with the flying of the Pride Flag along side the Australian and Indigenous flags. Between classes, music chosen by the Respect group was played through the school’s PA that represented pride and diversity.
But the real festivities happened at lunchtime where students were invited to participate in an upbeat Zumba class and be a part of our ‘We welcome all’ art mural. Kingston Youth Services provided rainbow ribbons and took Polaroids for the students as a keepsake.
Special thank you to Bunnings, Mentone and the St.Kilda Football Club for donating prizes and supplies for this special event.
