Assistant Principal’s Update

Dear Parents, Students and Community Members, 2016 is now well and truly underway and the senior students are feeling this more than ever with first semester almost done, the what seems to be endless SACs and the rapidly approaching mid- year exams for Years 10 and 11. GAT preparation is also underway for students studying Units 3-4. Semester Two is fast approaching and is due to begin in just a few short weeks for our senior students, prior to the mid-year break. For our Year 12 students this last few weeks of Semester One really does represent the beginning of the end. One short semester of secondary schooling is all that is left. It will fly by! Organisation, planning and STUDY are the keys to success over the next few months. Use the time you have left at school wisely to help prepare for the final examinations. Planning and p r e p a r a t i o n now will help for the end of year exams. Time now is precious, use it wisely. Use your teachers’ expertise, use your study period effectively. Start your final revision now, do not put if off. On another note all students have recently completed this year’s Attitudes to School Survey where students have the opportunity to reflect on their school. Mordialloc College always has outstanding results in this survey and we look forward to this year’s results sometime in Term Three. We will again be feeding back this information to students and the community as we constantly strive for excellence in everything we do. Second semester is a time of change for students in Years 9 and 10 with new elective choices. Watch out at your year level assemblies for updates and further information about this process. Finally I would like to congratulate our Year 7 students who are on their way to completing their first semester as secondary school students. They have all settled in really well and have been a fantastic addition to the Mordialloc College community.
