This year, Mordialloc College has been lucky enough to secure the services of Liz Evans, our Numeracy and Literacy Intervention Specialist teacher. Liz has been working with Year 7 and 8 students throughout the year, using specially designed Literacy and Numeracy programs to support and encourage students to improve skills in these key areas. Students are selected for participation based on past results, pretests and a willingness to learn. The students have shown enthusiasm and increased confidence from participating in these sessions and have shown growth in their understanding and knowledge from these programs. It is a testament to Liz’s work that other students, not involved in the program express a keenness to be included.

As we are in the first year of implementation of this program, we constantly review it and have made changes to the format to ensure the students are achieving successful outcomes, which means the program is achieving its intended purpose.

If you have any queries or concerns about your child’s development in either of these areas, please contact your child’s teacher to discuss ways we can help them develop their skills.
